12/6/07 - I'm in a 6 hour workshop...not too bad, yet! Jim Gates is extremely knowledgable on WIKIs and uses for the classroom, as well as, many other web tools
The largest problem would be each School District's web filter and then the amount of time it takes to set up the little things...for example, the "WELCOME" letters on my WIKI 'home page took about 30 minutes. I found them, somewhat, quickly..but I had to tool with resizing them after loading them, then, I had to make sure they lined up right. I also had some videos load up, great! Then i tried the Gizmo answering thing that Mr. Gates has on his...went through the step and my WIKI won't accept it?!? Now what?

12/7/07 - My fears were confirmed...two of the three videos I down loaded are blocked at school, not because of video content, but rather where the videos may have come from.

I would agree, 9 / 10 times that 'You Tube' should be blocked, in School, from students. I've seen how easy it is to access the high volume of garbage that 'You Tube' has on it.

HOWEVER, there are a TON of awesome videos, both educational, comical, and creative. For example, the "What is a Wiki?" video was produced by...I'll have to finish later when I get home...I can't tell, ti's blocked!
